HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?

The brand-spanking new iOS 10 came out this week, with major tech advances including stickers, doodles, and the ability to delete the compass app. Here’s your guide to the changes (and the secret changes). Having played around with it for few days, iOS 10 does feel better, so give it a try. And if you need help creating your brand’s iOS 10 sticker packs, just let us know. Seems like an easy win for most brands.

TWITTER’S NOT JUST FOR BIRD WATCHING ANYMORE

Twitter streamed its first NFL game on Thursday night and it was great (unless you’re a Bills fan). Users could watch the game and see tweets related to it underneath. Twitter also just released an Apple TV app, where users could watch the game in HD and read game tweets next to video. The stream was available to happy cord-cutters worldwide for free.

JUST SIT BACK AND LET THE ROBOTS DO ALL THE WORK

While most people would just be happy with a robot that could unclog a toilet, Facebook took it in another direction earlier this year with the release of Facebook Messenger bots, and they’re starting to pay off for brands. The Sun newspaper reported that their soccer-focused Messenger bot is generating a 20-46% click through rate back to their website. And with Facebook’s new Messenger API, brands can now offer bot-based online shopping using Facebook mobile payments.

Oh, and Uber started testing self-driving cars in Pittsburgh, which, of course, you can call using a bot on MessengerNeed a bot? Give us a shout. If it includes death lasers, we’ll do it for free.

YOUR RIGHT TO WIFI (UNLESS YOU’RE A FILTHY PERVERT)

The European Commission announced its plan to offer citizens free Wi-Fi by 2020. The plan calls for free Wi-Fi in major cities, as well as a new 5G network by 2025. Hopefully Europeans can behave better than New Yorkers, who have had free public Wi-Fi for a while. Google converted New York City phone booths into Wi-Fi hotspots with charging stations. Unfortunately a few bad apples ruined it for everyone with their behavior, which included using the kiosks to watch pornography. At least they weren’t making pornography.

YOU COULD BE MISSING OUT ON SOME REALLY COOL BANNERS

Maybe you’re one of the 26% of Americans who uses an ad blocker. But do you really want to block ALL of the ads? What if you’re missing out on some really great banner ads? Well, problem solved. The curators of culture at Adblock Plus will now allow some ads “deemed acceptable” to get through their ad blocker. Wow, thanks! Of course Adblock Plus will make money off of those ads. Someone has to be paid for all the deeming of acceptability that must be done. Meanwhile, Londoner’s who were sick of ads took the matter into their own hands with the help of cats.
