Clinique Wink & A Nod Campaign

When Clinique launched The Wink, an online editorial destination for beauty and lifestyle content, they asked us to help get the word out by creating a social campaign. In addition to drumming up visibility, we had two goals for the campaign: to introduce consumers to the types of multifaceted influencers who would be featured on The Wink, and to give women and girls the opportunity to recognize each other—a central tenant of The Wink’s mission.

Clinique Wink & A Nod Campaign

And so we developed the #WinkandaNod campaign, which asked participants to toss social “winks” to a pal who deserved recognition. We commissioned three talented artists with rockstar social footprints—Kelly Mindell of Studio DIY, Meagan Cignoli of Visual Country, and illustrator Dallas Shaw—to create these custom winks in their respective media, which were then housed on a landing page that we built into The Wink. From this page, participants could choose a wink to post on their Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest. When a participant published a wink on her social account, she tagged the handle of a friend who deserved a #winkandnanod and asked her to pass it on.
